The short version
The camera and pose experience runs on your device. We do not receive your photos, live camera frames, body-position data or imported reference images. We use limited anonymous product analytics to understand whether features work and RevenueCat to manage subscription access. Session replay is disabled.
Camera and body processing
Camera access is required to show the live preview and take photos. Compatible catalog poses can also use an on-device silhouette guide. Camera frames and any body-position processing remain on your device and are not uploaded to us.
Photos and imported references
You can select a photo from Apple Photos and save a local copy as a reusable reference under Your References. The copied reference is stored in the app's private on-device storage. It is not uploaded by Hit The Pose.
When you keep a shot, the app saves it to Apple Photos and records a local link so My Photos can stay in sync. If the linked item is removed from Photos, it disappears from the in-app gallery after reconciliation. If you confirm deletion from Hit The Pose, the linked item is sent to Recently Deleted in Photos and the local gallery entry is removed.
You can remove an imported reference from Your References at any time. Deleting the app removes its private on-device storage, subject to normal iOS backup and restore behavior.
Anonymous product analytics
We use PostHog, hosted in the European Union, for limited product analytics such as app launches, onboarding steps, feature use, paywall views and purchase funnel events. These events may include technical context such as app version, language, device type and operating-system version.
We do not send photo pixels, camera frames, imported reference content, body data, names, email addresses or precise location to PostHog. Automatic screen capture, element capture and session replay are disabled.
Subscriptions and payments
Apple processes purchases through your Apple ID. We never receive your card details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and subscription status so the app can determine which features are unlocked and restore access after reinstalling. Permissions
- Camera: live preview and capture.
- Photos: choose references, save shots, show linked shots and perform user-confirmed deletion.
You can change permissions in iOS Settings at any time. Some features will stop working if the required permission is removed.
What we do not use
- No advertising SDKs or data brokers.
- No account, contact list or social profile.
- No precise location.
- No server-side photo or camera analysis.
Legal basis and retention
Where data-protection law applies, subscription processing is necessary to provide the paid service and limited product analytics serves our legitimate interest in improving reliability and conversion without observing private visual content. Anonymous analytics and subscription records are retained only as needed for those purposes and according to the relevant provider settings and legal obligations.
Children
Hit The Pose is not directed to children below the minimum age required to use the App Store in their region. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information.
Your choices and rights
You can revoke permissions, delete local references, delete linked photos, remove the app and manage or cancel subscriptions from your Apple account. If EU/EEA, UK or other applicable law gives you rights over information we may hold, contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top will always identify the latest version.
